“It seems as if we are in India. The Mumineen of the United States are like the Mumineen of Hindustan.  You may be miles away from the centre of dawat, but you reside in my heart.”

These were the words of al-Dai al-Ajal Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS upon seeing the devotion and the mohabbat of Mumineen. Not long ago the scenario in America was a different one. Mumineen who had come to America to study or work became influenced by consumerism, Western education and fashion. They came to the markaz once or twice a year, and their children, for a lack of deeni upbringing, were going astray.

But Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin’s RA constant concern sustained Mumineen, and his untiring travels and efforts fortified their faith. Syedna RA visited America 9 times. And each visit led to a renaissance in his followers, increased their devotion and imaan manifold, and raised them in their levels of commitment to the tenets of Islam. Burhanuddin Maula’s RA presence, his radiance infused imaan and barakaat in Mumineen, and in the next generation and in the next. He laid foundations for and inaugurated masjid after masjid in the west which would ensure the continuance of deeni activities and bring Mumineen closer together and closer to him. His compassion: a benevolent smile, a kind word, a caring gaze gave Mumineen something to treasure for a lifetime, and for the hereafter.

This was Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin’s TUS first safar mubarak to North America as al-Dai al-Mutlaq. Syedna’s visit to the State of California lasted 17 days, spanning Los Angeles, San Jose, Bakersfield, Fremont and Orange County. Wherever he went, mohabbat was manifest: on faces, attire, in homes and most importantly in their hearts. Maula TUS took them to the next level, personally guiding, nurturing and disciplining them. Syedna’s TUS demanding schedule including waaz, bethak, qadam and ziyaafat consolidated years of ´ilm, imaan and barakaat in a matter of days. His waaz mubarak was replete with hidaayat, haqiqat and hikmat.  During waaz, Maula TUS would directly address children urging them to attend the majaalis of Ashara Mubaraka with dedicated regularity, no matter the odds, thereby consolidating the faith of these children, their children, and that of generations to come. Time and again, in fact at every moment in those 17 days, Aqa Maula TUS remembered his father and Naas and reiterated that Mumineen of American are where they are today because of Burhanuddin Maula RA.
