URS MUBARAK OF SYEDNA QUTBUDDIN AL-SHAHEED RA, 1441 H. IN SHAREQA, UAE.

Reflections

Those who are virtuous in this world will be virtuous in the hereafter. Thus, being virtuous in this world is of utmost significance. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS addressed the congregation of Mumineen before him with a verse from Al-Quran al-majeed, “You are the best people raised for mankind, and you bid the virtuous and forbid the unvirtuous…”

The pure personages of the Awliya Allah are the most supreme form of virtue. The 32nd al-Dai al-Mutlaq, Syedna Qutbuddin al-Shaheed RA chose martyrdom and thereby his virtue remains till this day.

Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA always counselled virtuousness, to do just what is good, keep sowing virtue and keep reaping virtue and keep becoming celestial from the earthly.

One individual relates that he came to know of Syedna Burhanuddin’s RA passing at half past ten Emirates time and every Friday at this time he gathers his family together and they do maatam.

When meeting with the public, when meeting with Muslimeen, keep a smiling face; pray salaam upon your Muslim brother; your face should always show happiness, always smiling.

Imam Jafar al-Sadiq AS states;

“Virtue is not complete without three facets; it is unpretentious, easy and swift.”

Without any one of these a virtue is no longer a virtue.

So one should not, for example, preface along the lines that, “This is a very difficult task, but I will try to do it for you.”

Maa’ruf means those things that Rasul Allah’s SA shariah does not forbid, and those that are regularly performed. Furthermore, whatever acts of virtue that one does can only be called virtuous when done by association with the Awliya AS, who are the embodiment of virtue

Every act of virtue is charity and charity should be done in such a way that when the right hand enacts it the left hand does not come to know.

Who is it that can act with genuine virtue? It is those who have comprehension, who’s permitting and forbidding is just and those who are perceptive of the person whom they permit and forbid.

The word ‘mushreqa’ means like the sun and Awliya Allah AS are radiant like the sun. – acts of virtue are also ‘mushreqa’. Then with a smile Syedna said, “They are shariqa.”

There is also a place in Yemen called Shariqa where the Qubba Mubaraka of Syedna Ali Shamsuddin RA is located.  A mumin from the Emirates has made a significant contribution in building this Qubba Mubaraka. The road here was also laid by the Mumineen of the Emirates.

There are elements that, were they to remain free in the atmosphere, would cause harm have been confined within certain creatures, snakes and scorpions for example. That is why one should shun what is haraam; otherwise illness would spread.

That which Rasul Allah SA says brims only with good and that which Awliya Allah AS do brims only with virtue.

Syedna Qutbuddin Al-Shaheed RA was shackled by manacles and cuffs in the same way that Imam Zainulabedin AS was in the aftermath of the battle of Karbala. Had Syedna Qutbuddin Al-Shaheed RA not embraced martyrdom, virtue would not exist today, just as had Imam Husain AS not chosen martyrdom, Islam would not exist today. It is Imam Husain’s virtue – m’aaruf’ -that has brought us to where we are. We have been taught how to sacrifice for him and shed our tears upon him by the virtue of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA who has convened an Ashara here in the UAE.

When, as a child, Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA was afflicted by typhoid, his father Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA repeatedly performed deeds of virtue. The illness got to the point where the doctor stated that he was giving one final dose of medicine and if that works then fine otherwise there is no hope. Syedna RA did recover and Syedna Burhanuddin RA rewarded the doctor handsomely. He had also vowed the ziyarat of Syedna Qutbuddin al-Shaheed RA. Moula TUS emphasized that the ziyarat of Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed RA cures illnesses and ailments.

Awliya Allah’s AS virtue is seen in the unpretentiousness, ease and swiftness with which they procure the highest virtue for us – paradise. This is procured for us if we shed a tear upon Husain or even if we try to cry. How swiftly is paradise procured? Syedna motioned to his eyes, saying that the tear will not yet have emerged and Heaven is vouchsafed.
