A portrait encased in mahogany hanging on the office wall rouses attention and awe. A portrait of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin in pristine white – celestial, almost divine! RasulullahSA has said, “There is nothing better than white attire.” White has been the traditional dress of Duat MutlaqeenSA through the ages and it is white, a white saya kurta and topi lined with gold, that they have apportioned for their followers.

White is in stark contrast to the corporate blacks, blues and greys that we encounter every day. White clothes are symbolic of the chastity of the wearer, for, even a speck of black becomes easily visible on white. Likewise, a mumin’s soul is pure, even one simple transgression is way too much!
