Musa NabiAS and HarunAS

AllahTA chose Musa NabiAS as his messenger, thus he conveyed His message to the people and freed them from the slavery and beliefs of the Pharoah. Allah instructed MusaAS to go and confront the Pharaoh:

“Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds.” (Qur’an, 20: 24)

Musa NabiAS sought permission from the Almighty to let his brother HarunAS, an eloquent speaker, accompany him.

He said: “O my Lord! I have slain a man among them, and I fear lest they slay me. “And my brother Harun – He is more eloquent in speech than me: so send him with me as a helper, to confirm (and strengthen) me: for I fear that they may accuse me of falsehood.” (Qur’an, 28: 33-34)

Musa Nabi’s request was granted.. AllahTA declared that Harun would accompany Musa and support and strenghten him in his mission to the Pharaoh.:

He said: “We will certainly strengthen thy arm through thy brother, and invest you both with authority, so they shall not be able to touch you: with Our Sign shall ye triumph,- you two as well as those who follow you.” (Qur’an, 28: 35)

Another ‘ayat mentions the same event as follows:

He said (Musa Nabi): “O my Lord! expand me my breast; ease my task for me; and remove the impediment from my speech, so they may understand what I say: and assign me a helper from my family, (Qur’an, 20: 25-29)

AllahTA explained to them that the Pharaoh was arrogant and contentious, but nevertheless, they were to adopt a gentle manner in communicating His message to him:

“Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; but speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear Allah. They (Musa Nabi and Haru) said: “Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds.”

AllahTA replied:

“Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see everything. So go ye both to him, and say, ‘Verily we are apostles sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty awaits those who reject and turn away.” (Qur’an, 20: 43-48)

In many verses of the Qur’an the importance of choosing kind words is stressed. AllahTA and AwliyaullahAS have taught us to always speak gently, irrespective of whom we are conversing with.
